…Australian shoe brand Hobes. Founder Georgia Hobart developed footwear that offers wardrobe staples with longevity. These shoes are handmade, unisex, and ultra lightweight. Hobes are constructed from traditional Italian techniques, using quality, soft natural fibres and they’ll go with just about anything. I just adore these shoes and wish I had them in every color. And don’t get me started on how cute the kids ones are.

Stan Smith Sneakers

I am so happy about this latest footwear trend! Stan Smith sneakers by Adidas (named after an American tennis champ) have been making a big comeback over the past few years and it seems as though just about everyone is sporting them this Spring. I’ve always had a fondness for these shoes, which Adidas first introduced in 1971, because my late grandfather wore them throughout my childhood. I am planning on buying myself a pair this summer because they go with just about everything. I especially love how they look with a maxi dress or distressed boyfriend jeans.

The ALDO Rise FW14 collaboration is out and it’s a goodie. The shoe brand has collaborated with London-based fashion brand Ostwald Helgason, known for its contemporary, art inspired clothing. Their collection for ALDO features both shoes and handbags. I’m not sure that I would wear the shoes but I am nuts about those handbags! The maroon Lily caryall must be mine…

Birks are back

We had a fantastic albeit brief getaway to NYC (full recap coming up later this week)! I tell ya, that city is chock-full of inspiration. I always leave with my head bursting with ideas and beautiful images – and things I want to buy. I didn’t do all that much shopping this trip, as I wanted to splurge on restaurants more so than on clothing. I did treat myself to a pair of Birkenstock sandals though, which are making a serious comeback this summer. Women all over New York were sporting them. Some wore them with cut-off denim shorts while others wore them with chic chiffon maxi dresses. I am a big fan of any footwear trend that is good for my arches so I am more than happy to jump on this bandwagon. I wore mine the entire time, walking nearly 45 NYC blocks on one occasion, totally blister-free. I paired them with old jeans during the day and with skirts in the evening. There’s something so nostalgic about wearing Birks. Maybe it’s time to dust off the old Dave Matthews CD’s…
