About the Blog
I guess I should start by stating that my name is not Lake, nor is it Jane. It’s Marie-Eve. Lake Jane – the blog – is named after a lake in Montana that was named after my great-grand-mother (for more on that story, please read this post). Luckily her name was Jane-Elizabeth and not Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagun-gamaugg, which happens to be the longest lake name in the US.
But I digress.
I began writing Lake Jane in 2008 because I was looking for a creative outlet. I had heard of blogs but had never read a blog, which is why I googled “How does one start a blog?” One would think that this project would have been doomed to fail but luckily, I quickly realized that I loved blogging. Since it never dawned on me that anyone other than my parents might read Lake Jane (what’s up mom and dad), it was easy for me to write honestly and without reservation. I continue to write this way today. Many years later, Lake Jane remains a personal project. I write because I feel like I have something to share and I continue to be amazed that strangers from around the globe are connecting with my words. Thanks for stopping by!
