The nursery (finally)

I finally got around to taking some pictures of the nursery. It's pretty much ready to go at this point. All we're missing is a baby!

Since we don't foresee being in this place for more than a year, we didn't want to invest in new furniture that the baby could grow with. We wanted to use what we had and buy a few other items to fit the tiny space. I was careful to only buy things that I knew I could eventually use in a toddler's room or elsewhere in our home: we used our old office desk as a changing table, my walk-in closet wardrobes for storage, painted a wooden chair we found in an alleyway and bought our crib on Kijiji.

There are only three walls in the room since the "fourth wall" is an opening to our room that we've covered with large white curtains. It's actually only 2 and a half walls since one of the three walls has a door (for a floor plan click here). In other words, there is very little wall space to work with so we had to prioritize. I kept the white walls pretty bare and really tried to maximize storage.

What a lovely place ! I love the dark wall with the frames and the stripes on the floor... and the sentence "All we're missing is a baby!"... cute :)

Your baby is going to LOVE his room. Babies only see in black and white for a while so this room is perfect and will be so stimulating for him. Our son was obsessed with black and white photos.. they always calmed him.

Beautiful nursery! I'm inspired to paint a wall in my baby's nursery black too, he's due in early June, so still a bit of time to decide.

I hope everything's going well!!

You did such a fab job, even knowing it's temporary! Kudos to you. You make me want to have a baby just so I can do the same! Hmmm hold that thought. Congrats on the coming of Theo!

So beautiful ! And I love the fact that you don't use the blue-baby color that we usually see in every "classic" nursery.

Love your blog, love this nursery!
D'ailleurs, je suis obsédée depuis plusieurs mois par ce tapis rayé de DwellStudio... peut-on l'acheter seulement en ligne ou est-il disponible dans des boutiques montréalaises?

@missbri6: I think you can only get it online. I had no issues ordering it through their website!
