You may remember my little visit to Angie Johnson's studio this Summer. I was a fan before visiting her work space and I am an even better fan since meeting her in person. Angie is a force of nature. I am certain she actually makes the most of everyday and I never cease to be amazed by the amount of projects she has on the go. On top of designing and making every piece in the Norwegian Wood collection, co-running Headquarters Galerie and Boutique, tweeting and helping to put together the Smart Design Mart, Angie is also participating in the Uniform Project to raise funds for Free The Children. Yup, she's a superhero.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the Uniform Project, it was started in 2009 by Sheena Matheiken who pledged to wear one little black dress for 365 days as an exercise in sustainability and a fundraiser to support the Akanksha Foundation. And for the next year, Sheena reinvented her uniform solely using accessories that were either vintage, handmade, reused or donated. The U.P now has an international following of supporters, a few of whom have joined Sheena to form the Uniform Project company and one of those is Angie. Every day for the next month, Angie will be wearing the same dress, styling and photographing it differently on a daily basis. She's 8 days in and I can't believe how versatile she makes this dress look!! Check out her U.P. page to see her outfits and to make a donation.
