Catherine Pierce, the talented owner and designer behind Montreal-based jewelery line mabel and jules, is offering one lucky LJ reader this stunning multi-row spiral braid necklace! The necklace is composed of cotton embroidery thread, gold metal chain, beads and a tassel. It also has 2 little beads, a gold feather and a turquoise bead adorning the braided thread. I love the delicate layers of this piece and the turquoise color makes it perfect for a summer outfit in need of a hint of colour.
Not only does Catherine's jewelry look great but it also has this nostalgic quality about it. The braided thread she integrates in many of her designs reminds me of summer camp where we used to spend hours making thread bracelets. Obviously Catherine's work is about a million times nicer than anything I made as a 6th grader but it still manages to capture that handmade quality. mabel and jules jewelry can be found at Lola & Emily here in Montreal and Victoire Boutique in Ottawa. Otherwise, please visit her etsy shop for more goodies made from recycled, salvage and vintage components!
To enter, simply leave a comment after the break! The contest closes on Friday August 6th. The winner will be announced on Monday August 9th. Good luck!!
