When it came to developing a concept, I didn't have to look too far. Lake Jane is about my life in Montreal, the things that inspire me and the amazing people I meet along the way. I wanted to make a window that expressed that so I basically emptied out the contents of my iPhoto folders and transformed them into Polaroid mobiles. Most of those pictures have probably appeared on this blog at one point or another. My life over the past couple of years is pretty much on display on Montreal's busiest street for all to see. It's kind of funny that I'm more nervous about putting a few pictures of myself in a store front that I am about blogging about my entire life with complete strangers on a daily basis...
I assembled outfits using pieces designed exclusively by Montrealers: Dresses by Eve Gravel, tops by Josiane Perron and Vanessa Moore, and shorts by Valérie Dumaine. I also included accessories by Charlotte Hosten, Rachel F., La Raffinerie, Uranium and, of course, a lovely coral feather number by Noémiah. Feathers are a bit of a Lake Jane trademark afterall! I also brought some stuff from home that LJ readers might recognize like my grandmother's suitcases and a recently rescued vintage frame.
If you happen to be in Montreal, I hope you'll stop by and check it out! It's SALE time at the store and it's pretty much impossible to leave empty handed. Thank you to the UNIGirls for this very fun project! Merci les filles! And huge props and thanks to my dear friend Aleksandra for her ladder-climbing skills and attention to detail and to Mike for cutting over 100 individual polaroids. ox

You did such a great job!!!
Was there yesterday and spotted your work! You did a wonderful job on the window, it's dreamy and summery and perfect for the shop. I liked it so much, I bought my very own Vanessa Moore stripey top and my friend bought a hat like the one on display - sold! Cha-ching!
This looks fantastic and very Lake Jane! I love the idea of doing it all Montreal. Brilliant!
i was there a few days ago and loved your window! great job!
This looks beautiful, so excited for you to do ours!!
Wow this window is simply amazing and totally have a "Lake Jane" feel to it!
What's great is that even though it's totally you, we can all relate to this display, especially now that summer is almost over. There's some kind of nostalgia attached to the Polaroid, the old suitcase...
Thanks for the featuring! Since we love our city so much, we couldn't be more proud to be surrounded by la crème de la crème of mtl's designers.
