This Weekend

I'm heading home for the Annual Girls' Christmas Dinner! For close to 12 years, my girlfriends and I have been getting together for a holiday dinner where we eat and drink too much. We have our own traditions surrounding the event although some new ones creep in every year. We also try to pick a theme which will influence both our outfits and menu. This year's theme is the 1950's so we're going calendar girl/Mad Men. I adore this theme but food-wise, it's a little challenging. We did some research and typical 50's cocktail party menus included strange items with even stranger names. Things like "Herring-appleteasers", "Tidbits in blankets", "Orange-and-Bermuda onion salad", and "Sardine Suprises". I have no idea what any of those things mean and I don't think I want to find out. We're going to try to make a make more modern version of typical 50's dishes while still including some classics.

As always, expect a full recap on Monday! Happy weekend everybody!! xoxox
