Sometimes when I start recapping weekends on Lake Jane, I realize just how much my days revolve around eating. Oftentimes, I realize that my weekend food choices have a theme like greasy goods or meat meat and more meat. If this weekend had a theme, it was sugar. As previously mentioned, we attended
Cupcake Camp on Sunday but prior to that, I was quite busy working on my baking skills in the kitchen.
On Friday I made
these peanut butter chocolate chip cookies (another
Smitten Kitchen success story) which we enjoyed with two glasses of milk while watching
The Simpsons movie.

And on Sunday morning I decided to make these
toasted wheat germ and blueberry muffins. They turned out really well and, I never thought I'd say this, I'm slowly starting to enjoy baking!

I have noticed the same thing about my weekends! We don't have time to eat a real breakfast together on weekdays so on the weekend we take full advantage of our extra time and have long large breakfasts. If we don't end up eating breakfast at lunchtime we also have long lunches where we sit around and talk for hours. I'm glad you are enjoying baking!
