1 – Paint an entire wall in chalkboard paint. Although this may seem gloomy, it can grow with her and she’ll always have a place to draw and friends can leave fun messages and drawings on there for her. To add colour, paint stripes on the ceiling or paint the other walls a brighter color.

2 – Paint the walls a neutral colour but pick fun fabrics and frame them using needle point clamps. You can hang them all over the wall and it will make a super cute polka dot effect.
3 – Speaking of polka dots, I love this idea. It’s easier than stripes or wallpaper. Just use a large round tupperware lid, trace it on a piece of plastic and then use that as a stencil to paint on the wall. You could have a wall of pink polka dots! You could also design your own stencil. There's a great tutorial here.
4 –I am obsessed with Inke stencils. I think that they’re a little pricey but they’ll be cool for a baby and toddler room so they last a while. She uses vintage wallpaper to create beautiful large scale stencils. So instead of a whole wallpaper wall, you have a wallpaper detail.

5 - Wallpaper! It's trendy as ever and there are tons of fun options out there. I love temporary wallpaper by Tempaper.

the first room you featured has been one of my favourite baby rooms for a while... love the stripes on the ceiling and the chalkboard wall!
I am so in love with that first photo. Striped ceiling, black accents, Calder mobile, modern crib... love it!
I used these beautiful Wallcandy Dottilicious polka dots to decorate one wall of my baby's room. The kit has 80 dots of varying sizes and colours, and the colours are rich and bright. The dots are vinyl, and are easy to peel and stick. As a bonus, they can be reused. Service via Zac and Zoe was friendly and efficient.
While I resepct your zeal for the stencil, this was a more convenient option for me!
The fun thing is that the baby stares at them intently. She's 10 weeks old, and she seems fascinated by them!
