Anile and Christian: Moving On Up!

Anile and Christian are both very creative and, from the looks of these pictures, very motivated people. They moved into a new house this Summer but before getting into pictures of that project, I had to share images of all of the hard work they put into their old place. I'll let Anile explain the transformation:

"We lived in this house with roommates but eventually decided to fix it up, move out and rent it out instead. The most grueling project by far was sanding all the wood strips in the foyer, up the stairs and on the upstairs landing (below)."

"It was a horrible black-green stain and we decided to get rid of all of it. In retrospect it was crazy to take it on (the people who came to refinish the floors told us they would never have done it and that we were nuts) but we're so proud of how it looks now."

"We moved into our place this past summer but we've barely scratched the surface in terms of fix-ups and renos...we have big kitchen and bathroom plans that are waiting on our savings...so small projects are first. We haven't even painted yet! In the meantime, here is a project that Christian and I took on over the Christmas break..."

I just love how they've used Umbra's Conceal book shelves from floor to ceiling! I feel so inspired after looking at all of these transformations.
